“Growing up in an art making family in Fremantle, Western Australia, art has been an intrinsic element of my life both professionally and domestically. This particular perspective on the art world and society continues to inform and colour my work. Recently relocating with my own family to the Perth Hills has added new thematic layers and challenges to my practice.”
Ben has been involved in the creation of public artworks with team Tony Jones, Angela McHarrie and in partnership with wife Buffy Jones for around 20 years. He works in such varied methods as figurative cast metal to digital design and fabrication.
Ben’s studio practice combines personal themes of family, domesticity and identity with an interest in defunct and hidden popular imagery and illustration.
